Privacy Policy

Effective October 6, 2026

The short version: Dimframe doesn't collect, store or share any personal data. Your settings stay on your Mac.

What Dimframe collects

Nothing. Dimframe has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It doesn't read or record what's on your screen; it only draws a shade over the parts you aren't reading. It doesn't send information about you over the internet.

What stays on your Mac

Dimframe saves a few settings in your Mac's standard app preferences so they're there next time: how dark the dimming is, whether other displays are dimmed, and whether you've seen the welcome window. These settings contain no personal information and never leave your Mac.

Whether Dimframe starts when you log in is managed by macOS, in System Settings > General > Login Items.

Purchases

The free trial and the one-time unlock are handled by Apple through the Mac App Store, under Apple's Privacy Policy. We never receive your name, email address or payment details. Apple only gives us sales reports that don't identify you.

Crash reports

If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your Mac's settings (System Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share crash reports and basic usage statistics with us. Apple controls this sharing, and you can turn it off at any time in the same place.

This website

dimframe.com uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. Like any web host, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.

Children

Dimframe doesn't collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
